Gorgeous Turn-of-the-century Arts & Crafts leather (probably steerhide......very thick) purse with very unusual 3 chain hand strap that was probably worn as a chatelaine purse. The ornate frame has a lovely Nouveau style raised motif and beautiful center blue rhinestone. Reverse side of frame has scalloped edge with studs and you can see the copper that is in the brass metal.......though not sure exactly how much or the type of metal. The top opens when you push in the round clasp and features an accordion style interior of 3 separate compartments of heavy steerhide leather. Embossed in very fancy writing on interior of frame is "The Carlton".

Condition: Basically excellent with spotless interior. The frame will need to be cleaned.
